Don’t Take Your Finger Off The Lens

Today I downloaded a app that is supposed to calculate your pulse, I saw someone use it recently and it seemed to work in less than 5 seconds! I was ecstatic about going home and trying out this cool technology. So I got the app downloaded and opened it up, it directed me to place my finger on the camera lens and I did, 5 seconds passed and nothing happened, 10 seconds passed and by this time I’m getting frustrated and begin to call the app silly, I decide it’s not worth my time and remove my finger, there was a split second between lifting my finger that a message popped up that read 10 seconds left, but went away quickly and went back to the “place finger on camera” I scolded myself “Ugh! You should have kept your finger on the lens longer” and this made me think is this not the same thing that we sometimes do with God?

Often times we may be praying for a job, a change in season, a wife, a husband etc. and things may not happen right away, we’re waiting and waiting then we start to question God “what’s taking so long?” “ why aren’t you listening?” then after frustration and anxiousness come into play we step out of the will God right when that 10 more seconds message was about to flash! We take matters into our own hands and don’t allow the process God wants us to go through to happen.

I just want to encourage you to be patient be faithful while you’re waiting and trust Him! Psalm 37:4 says ‘Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart’ do You really think God is oblivious to what we desire? Of course not! He loves us and wants to do things for our good! The Lord will give you the desires of your heart according to His will so don’t doubt the process embrace it because what God has for you could be right around the corner and you don’t want to ruin it by letting your flesh lead you and not trusting in the Lord.

Don’t give up,  keep pressing, embrace the process and don’t take your finger off the lens until God says so.
